BANG Evolution (BE) is a mentoring and coaching programme for young people between 8 – 18 years old in Brent. BE removes barriers and builds the aspirations and goals of young people through one-to-one and group sessions with mentors and/or coaches. BE identifies and builds on the strengths and interests of young people – shaping and building their confidence in the areas they find challenging.  We prepare them to become future members and leaders in their communities.  

BE also provides guidance on building and sustaining healthy relationships and overcoming obstacles in personal or educational situations.

RESULTS:

• 54 young people engaged in the mentoring and coaching programme.
• 16 young people had a great experience during the mentoring and coaching programme.
• 82% of mentees enjoyed having someone to speak to during the programme.
• 63% of mentees believed mentoring and coaching made them more confident.
• 38% of mentees requested the mentoring and coaching service to continue beyond its conclusion.
• Parents of mentees shared their appreciation for the positive male models who mentored their children.
