YOUNG VOICES

SHAPING THE FUTURE

BANG PEER RESEARCH - WP

Over the past year, we’ve been listening to young people.

Through youth-led BANG peer research, we heard directly from 1,000 young people across Brent and beyond, gaining an insight into their experiences, aspirations, and the gaps in current opportunities.

You can read the full 2025 BANG Peer Research Report into the needs and aspirations of young people in Brent here

What came through was clear: young people are ready to engage, grow, and lead – but they need the right spaces and support to do so.

Here’s some of what they told us:

  • Young people have a strong interest in exploring different cultures and understanding the world around them
  • Young people are increasingly interested in environmental and sustainability-focused activities
  • Young people see health and wellbeing as a priority
  • Young people are highly engaged in creative expression, from the arts to digital media
  • Over 80% of young people want support to build skills for employment

Beyond the numbers, there’s something deeper.

Many young people are interested in leadership but don’t know where to develop their skills or put them into practice.

Girls are asking for safe, supportive spaces to build confidence.

There is also a clear and growing need for more inclusive opportunities, particularly for young people with SEND.

This is exactly why this work matters.

These insights aren’t just data – they’re shaping how we develop the next generation of young leaders.

At BANG Edutainment, we’re already using this to expand our programmes across youth leadership, enterprise, employability, health and wellbeing, and creative media.

This includes developing new initiatives such as a Youth Wellbeing Hub and Digital Media Labs, alongside further research focused on SEND inclusion.

For us, the goal is simple:

To ensure young people’s voices don’t just get heard – but actively shape the opportunities around them.
