RiseUP Stonebridge was a sustainability project led by local parents in the Stonebridge estate.

Outside Leopold Primary School, a patch of land was dirty, unhygienic and littered with waste – most of which was non-biodegradable and drug/substance related. 6 parents from the school cleared the space surrounding the school.

Results:

  • The local environment became presentable, and the local council was informed of the waste that existed in that locality.
  • The small project created a need for the development of an eco-space where young people and residents could grow plants that promote youth power, community leadership, community cohesion, and sustainability.
  • This project fuelled the development of RiseUP – the upcoming youth leadership programme.
