YOUTH LEADERSHIP
CONSULTATION

Over the last month at BANG, we have been consulting young people and key stakeholders on how best to deliver Youth Leadership to young people.
In addition to our ongoing BANG Survey, we are working with our current interns from Brunel University to explore what engages young people, sustains their attention, and encourages them to take part in learning and development.
Based on these discussions, the senior leadership team reviewed previous leadership projects and developed new ideas to help young people learn key leadership skills through fun, enjoyable activities that build their capacity to lead.
To take this further, we held a meeting with youth facilitators to propose a strategy for engaging young people in leadership development. This strategy focuses on building strong relationships with schools and colleges, understanding their needs, and delivering a mix of activities that equip young people with practical life skills while giving them opportunities to exercise their voice and influence.
Through our Youth Leadership and Youth Voice Programme, we aim to develop young people’s communication, negotiation, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
In addition, young people learn professional and technical skills, such as social media, content production, and planning and scheduling etc.
This supports BANG’s aim to be youth-led.
BANG would like to thank Innocenti for funding this programme and John Lyon’s Charity for funding our engagement with interns and young people.
With their support, we are building a new generation of leaders.
