SAPHIR

PROJECTS INTERN AT BANG

Hi, I am Saphir.

As a Psychology student at Brunel University, I am currently completing a placement year with BANG, a youth-focused community organisation in Brent

I have joined as a project assistant intern, supporting the organisation through the delivery of community projects for young people across Brent, from primary age to sixth-form students.

I have supported the team in the coordination and delivery of several projects (BANG SEND) through event planning and the creation of engaging posters and visual materials using Canva.

One of the highlights of my internship so far has been the opportunity to shadow and support the delivery of Dela Move at a SEND school, where I have been involved in the dance and movement classes. During these sessions, I observe and see the positive impact dance and movement can have on building confidence, communication, and emotional expression.

This experience has deepened my understanding of how creative approaches to youth activities can positively impact a young person’s wellbeing.

Throughout my time at BANG, I aim to gain practical experience in community engagement and learn how projects like these can promote inclusion and personal growth.

I hope to pursue a career in counselling/psychotherapy, where I can integrate my background in psychology and my passion for supporting young people’s emotional and social development. Â
