On Wednesday, 23rd October 2024, BANG staff participated in a specialised online training session focused on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The session was delivered by NASEN, the National Association for Special Educational Needs, and aimed to equip staff with a deeper understanding of how to support young people with diverse educational needs.

This training reinforced BANG’s commitment to taking an inclusive approach – ensuring all young people are included in our workshops and programmes.

The session covered key topics, including identifying different types of SEND and exploring the relationship between Special Educational Needs (SEN), Learning Difficulties, and Disabilities. Effective communication strategies were discussed, along with the importance of creating a supportive environment for young people.

Through interactive modules and discussions, staff learned practical strategies for promoting inclusivity in our services. The training provided valuable insights into how we can adapt our approaches to better meet the needs of all young people.

BANG’s commitment to ongoing professional development remains strong and is central to delivering high-quality services through our SEND strategy. We empower our team with the skills needed to provide tailored support, ensuring that no young person is left behind due to their learning needs.

This session is part of BANG’s broader efforts to champion accessibility and inclusivity. It reinforces our mission to create opportunities for young people, regardless of their background or abilities.

We extend our gratitude to NASEN for delivering an insightful and educational session.
