Last autumn, BANG delivered Stacks at Roundwood Community School in Brent.

Stacks is a financial literacy initiative that aims to develop young people’s money management, personal finance, and entrepreneurship skills.

Through young people participating in practical problem-solving activities in a classroom during the Stacks sessions, they develop their decision-making skills.

BANG delivered Stacks to 9 students at the school.

In each session, the students learned the key principles and key terms of personal finance, including assets, liabilities, credit, debt, and contract.

Some of the activities the young people at Roundwood Community School engaged in included presenting financial literacy concepts, engaging in debates on credit and finance, and explaining the purpose of a budget and how it works.

75% of students were able to define and explain the concept of money using examples by the end of the programme.

100% of students understood the difference between assets and liabilities and were able to share at least one asset and one liability.

75% of students understood the importance of saving at the end of the programme.

100% of students understood the purpose of a budget and understood the concept of income.

Through delivering Stacks at Roundwood Community School, we provided young people with the essential knowledge to be more financially savvy with their money and prepare for the future.

Delivering Stacks to young people at the community school enabled the participants to learn and develop skills to achieve their personal and professional goals for the future.

BANG aims to continue working closely with Roundwood Community School to deliver services that enable young people to thrive and contribute positively to their communities.
