CONNECTION WITH BANG

My family has been closely connected with BANG for 25 years. When I first started working at BANG, I had no prior experience in my role. Throughout the last two and a half years, BANG has supported me in growing both personally and professionally.

I value the nurturing and energetic dynamic of our team. I love the energy, enthusiasm, and warmth of the BANG office. BANG is nurturing.

As an artist, BANG has encouraged my creative development. They have always been interested in my creativity, consistently finding ways to push and support me.

In my role as board secretary, I have learnt invaluable organisational skills, gained an understanding of governance, and gained insight into how an organisation operates. BANG has provided me with opportunities to develop my communication and organisational skills. Being part of the governance process has enhanced my understanding of effective policy implementation and strategic planning.

Documenting board meetings has given me greater insight into the skills, roles, and responsibilities of our board members. By recording discussions, I have gained a clearer understanding of each member’s viewpoints and how their unique contributions collectively make BANG an amazing organisation.

Youth voice is at the core of BANG. As a young person, my voice is always heard, and I see how youth voice is represented in board meetings. Truly listening to feedback from a young person’s perspective keeps BANG relevant and responsive to the needs of its target demographic.

Working at BANG has boosted my confidence and competence. I’m constantly inspired by the work we do and the impact it has. I’m proud to be part of BANG, an organisation that truly values and empowers youth, building a brighter, more sustainable future for all.
