Fuse Fest was a collaborative event, organised by BANG and The Beat London, for young people and their families, with the aim to build community cohesion and empowerment.

Following the presence of Covid-19, many families and young people experienced the negative effects of the pandemic, including loneliness, isolation and confusion.

BANG and The Beat London created Fuse Fest to get young people and their families engaged in activities that strengthen the bond between communities in Harlesden and Brent.

Fuse Fest took place on the 19th June 2022 in Roundwood Park in Harlesden, NW10.

RESULTS:

  • BANG engaged with families and members of the local community, including businesses.
  • BANG recruited and trained 20 young people from Capital City Academy to take part in the planning and delivery of Fuse Fest.
  • Fuse Fest reduced isolation amongst young people as they worked together to deliver the project on the day and engaged in interactive activities.
  • 10 artists engaged in the project and performed.
  • 3 people engaged as speakers and contributors at the festival.
  • 10 local people engaged in the project as volunteers.
  • 3 competitions were held – drawing more people to Roundwood Park.
