BANG SEND

BANG is committed to creating inclusive, accessible and empowering opportunities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Our tailored programmes are designed to help young people develop essential life skills, build confidence, and prepare for positive futures in education, independence, and employment.

Through engaging, structured activities such as drumming (which supports hand–eye coordination, listening skills, and joint participation), Dela Move (dance-inspired movement sessions that support regulation, body awareness and emotional wellbeing), community-building initiatives like the Parent HUB, and hands-on horticultural learning through the BANG Grow programme, we ensure every young person receives holistic, strength-based support that meets their individual needs.

Each project nurtures personal strengths, promotes teamwork and communication, and encourages creativity while connecting learning to real-life experiences. Our SEND offer develops leadership, resilience, self-regulation and a strong sense of belonging so every young person feels valued, supported, and able to thrive within their community and beyond.

To embed best practice across everything we deliver, we are strengthening inclusion within both our school-based and community-based programmes. This ensures our support is consistent, connected, and easy to access, enabling more families across Brent to benefit from the right support in the right setting.

As part of this commitment, we are developing a borough-wide BANG SEND Support Network and a new SEND Steering Group. These will bring together families, schools, professionals, and community partners to ensure our SEND provision is co-produced, culturally responsive, and shaped by lived experience improving outcomes and influencing better support for the Brent SEND community.

Currently, BANG delivers SEND programmes in partnership with Manor School, a specialist school in Brent, with further developments planned to expand our reach across the borough.
