VITALFEST AT BUSH HALL: A CELEBRATION
OF RASTAFARI CULTURE
ViTALFEST took place last weekend at Shepherd’s Bush Hall, hosted by BANG on October 27th. The event was a vibrant celebration of Rastafari music and culture, bringing together communities that share Rastafari values and traditions.
The day began with a SEND session from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, developed in collaboration with Manor School. Young people with special educational needs participated in an arts and crafts activity led by Khamani, founder of KJ Craft Time. This session allowed the young participants to express themselves through art using tools specifically designed with SEND needs in mind.
Sensory play was also incorporated, adding a tactile, immersive experience that supported their engagement and exploration.
Additionally, the young people enjoyed a drumming session with Jonathan, an experienced drummer who regularly leads workshops at Manor School, a special school in Brent.
ViTALFEST provided a welcoming environment for young people to explore and play, with their joy evident as they filled the hall with laughter and happiness.
Throughout the event, attendees could browse a variety of vendor stalls offering unique products. These included jollof paste, natural soap, perfume, patties, natural skincare products, accessories, natural deodorant, cupcakes, and face painting. A standout stall was KJ Craft Time, featuring toys specifically designed for SEND children, ensuring every child felt included and valued.
The festival also highlighted an array of culinary delights, including a stall featuring delicious jollof paste, mouth-watering patties, and beautifully decorated cupcakes from S Girl. In addition to food, attendees enjoyed stalls with natural soaps, perfumes, skincare products, accessories, and eco-friendly deodorants. Face painting by S Girl added a splash of colour and creativity for younger visitors.
During the afternoon and evening, BANG organised a drumming session for young people and their families, along with performances from various artists.
The evening showcased live music performances by Riomayankaya, Hardrive Pressin, and featured artist Judah Dareign, who performed a selection of conscious music exploring themes of liberation, love, Black history, and faith—rooted in his Rastafari values.
To ensure everyone had a comfortable experience, a quiet break room was available upstairs, providing a peaceful retreat for those seeking a moment of calm amidst the festivities. Overall, ViTALFEST was a wonderful success, celebrating community spirit, inclusivity, and creativity in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
