STACKS: A MATH-TASTIC DELIVERY
Created by our Digital Lead and Project Manager, Derrick Ogole, Stacks is BANG’s solution to the inevitable questions young people have about the world of money and how to utilise it with intention.
As a financial literacy initiative, Stacks aims to develop young people’s money management, personal finance, and entrepreneurship skills.
Through their participation in practical problem-solving activities during the Stacks sessions, young people develop their decision-making skills.
For the past few months, Derrick and Tania, a facilitator at BANG, have delivered the programme to various schools, including:
- St Claudine’s Catholic School for Girls, a Brent-based secondary school for girls.
- Greenwell Academy, an Essex-based alternative provision school.
This is alongside delivering the Stacks programme at our BANGIN’ Youth Club and the Stonebridge Hub.
In every workshop, students engage in a mix of theory-based activities, including worksheets to fill out and keep, and activities that require them to present at the front of the classroom and share their ideas with the rest of the cohort.
Stacks has proved to be a major success, with fantastic results.
Some of our notable results include:
- 126 young people engaged in the Stacks.
- 97% of students engaged in every session.
- 96% of students can define money following the delivery of Stacks.
- 92% of students have SMART goals.
Overall, Stacks is a testament to the values BANG holds towards in ensuring young people have the tools to flourish and feel confident with money.
